As you can tell from the pictures below, Francis favors facing one direction. The locations and poses are ones you've seen before, but the baby is forever changing.

8 weeks
Francis is definitely getting older and his temperment has changed some in the past week. While he's still having trouble with waking up every 45 minutes, he surprised us last night by sleeping for 6 hours straight! He's calmer during the day and has been able to stay entertaimed on his own for short periods of time (such as by watching the mobile over his crib). He's been smiling and talking more as well, and it's actually in response to the hilarious things we do now, rather than at the invisible things he sees on the ceiling. Francis is getting bigger as well, and we're guessing he'll be at least 11 lbs when we go to the doctor this Friday. Some of his clothing doesn't fit any longer, and he looks cramped in his Moses basket.

I take back my earlier recommendation to sell him. Six hours is pretty darn good. My theory is that babies have a sixth sense that tells them when they're about to get sold and, rather than starting over with a new family, they often decide to shape up. August can't wait to meet Francis. Please warn him that he will likely be poked in the eye and his hair will definitely get pulled. It is out of a deep sense of love and affection that Augie feels compelled to hurt people.
ReplyDeleteJust wait, it only gets better. CJ is crawling all over the place now and he is getting more personality every day. Making him laugh is my favorite task. Changing diapers now that we're on more solid food, not as much fun. I was remembering last night what I told people when I was pregnant. They would ask if I was scared of delivery or going into labor or whatever. I still say the pregnancy and delivery was the easy part, being a mommy is the scary part.
